Ambassadors provide on-the-street customer service for those who live, work and visit Harbourtown. They build relationships
with Harbourtown BIZ members and the community and are the face of the City of Kenora in the area. Ambassadors collect
valuable feedback that helps the City of Kenora understand the needs of our businesses and community to provide more
effective programs and services.

This position will work closely with the Crime Prevention & Community Well-Being Advisory Committee

This position is a great opportunity for individuals with excellent interpersonal skills who thrive in a dynamic
environment. University and College level students that are interested in pursuing a career in community service, policing,
bylaw, and business are encouraged to apply.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**1. Public and Community Engagement**
- Act as an on-street concierge for the downtown community answering questions regarding businesses, directions,

parking, events and City of Kenora programs and services.
- Respond to requests to provide courtesy walks, escorting individuals to their destination in the Harbourtown area

including boat docks.
- Assist with City of Kenora and third-party events and programs

**2. Business Relations**
- Establish and strengthen positive and proactive relationships with Harbourtown BIZ members, including in
- person visits to businesses.
- Solicit feedback from business, identifying solutions to address concerns and forwarding requests to the appropriate

City of Kenora programs and services.
- Assist in the distribution and collection of promotional material.

**3. City Service**
- Support City beautification by actively engaging in litter collection and inspection of City Facilities.
- Identify and report damage of public infrastructure, graffiti or cleanliness concerns (bathrooms, benches, etc.)
- Report any safety or health concerns, that are not emergency in nature and engage the appropriate community
- partner- Report Emergency Incidents to 911
- Work with the City of Kenora Tourism and Special Events team to support the refreshing and distribution of City

materials in the designated locations.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education in the field of Community and Social Services, Policing, etc.
- Related work and/or volunteer experience in the areas of community outreach
- Strong customer service experience
- Experience with vulnerable populations is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the City of Kenora

**Hours**: 40 hrs per week, 7 day operation. Shifts are from 12:00 pm-10:00 pm.
**Rate**: $18.13/hr
