Customer Service Position Part Time - Camrose Restore (15 Hours/ a week)

Company Profile: The Habitat for Humanity Restore in Camrose, Alberta, is a vital community resource that transforms donated goods into opportunities for those in need. By selling new and gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials at significantly reduced prices—ranging from 40% to 80% off below regular retail prices. This store provides affordable options for shoppers while generating essential funds for the organization's home-building projects. Each year, the Camrose Restore contributes to the construction of new affordable homes in Camrose. This not only supports the Habitat for Humanity vision of providing affordable housing but also fosters a sense of community involvement and generosity.

R**ole#1**:(15 Hours/ a week)
The **Customer Service Associate** plays a vital role in enhancing the customer experience and upholding the values of Habitat for Humanity Camrose. By maintaining a positive attitude and delivering exceptional service, the associate ensures that each customer interaction is pleasant and productive. This role involves collaborating with a diverse group of individuals, including customers, fellow employees, and volunteers, to foster strong, and supportive relationships. As an ambassador for the organization, the associate represents Habitat for Humanity Camrose with professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support Store Management, Co-workers, and volunteers in ensuring effective and efficient front-end operations
- Help to create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean and safe area and merchandising product as required.
- Frequently inspect products on the floor to ensure they are priced, clean, assembled and in a saleable condition.
- Assist customers with loading and unloading of their products
- Assist in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of sale and exchange transactions
- Assist and supports store volunteers and back-end operations as requested
- Helps to ensure that customers receive excellent service and maintain levels of satisfaction.
- Proactively resolve customer requests and concerns
- Support a sense of team with other employees and volunteers
- Ensure that all interactions with customers, employees and volunteers are respectful and polite.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, react to actual or potential safety concerns
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Assist with pricing, valuing and product write-offs
- Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven excellent customer service experience and skills.
- Proven communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Customer service or sales experience/cashier experience desired.
- Demonstrated ability to complete a task with accuracy, proficiency and effectiveness.
- Capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to regularly adapt to changing needs of the organization
- Able to work flexible hours
- Knowledge of DIY (do it yourself) building projects and materials are considered and asset

Physical Requirements:

- Capable of lifting 50 lbs (more when with a team member)
- Ability to spend majority of the day standing or moving around the store

- Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)
