Although we are currently in the North American market, we see great opportunity to expand our markets. To support this, the Financial Lines Division of Everest Insurance Company of Canada is currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our Toronto office.

As a key member of Everest Canada’s Financial Lines Division and reporting to the Head of Financial Lines, you will provide underwriting support to our underwriters. You will be accountable for day-to-day underwriting processing and will be tasked with pro-actively and effectively communicating with our underwriters and brokers to ensure that all information is complete and up to date with respects to overall business processing.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:- Management of underwriting renewal cycle: gather and prep renewal files.- Assist underwriters with assembling of financial or technical information as needed to support underwriting review process.- Work with underwriters to ensure that all underwriting file documentation is appropriately filed in ImageRight.- Handle and process booking of all premium transactions within prescribed month end closing dates.- Respond promptly to broker queries and liaise with underwriters as needed.- Work with the underwriting team to ensure efficient processing procedures are in place.- Special projects and other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications, Education & Experience- Minimum 1 to 3 years of progressive commercial underwriting processing experience- CIP designation or actively working towards completion of CIP courses- Bilingualism (French and English) an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Strong oral and written communication, analytical and computer skills.- Ability to maintain excellent relations with brokers and provide superior service.- Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers.- Strong prioritization skills to meet daily demand and deadlines to meet all service requirements.
