**_ Position Summary_**

The Bridge requires a Full time Head Cook to plan and develop menus and recipes, including special diets, and to perform related administrative duties. The Head cook prepares and serves meals and oversees the operation and cleanliness of the eating and cooking areas in our facilities. This position works independently and/or in collaboration with the Program Manager and is responsible for ordering and purchasing food items to meet the needs of the participants.

Position:_** Permanent Full Time (40 hours per week)

**Wage**
Grid 12 $24.04-28.02 per hour

For positions of 24 hours or more per week we offer Health & Wellness benefits after a 3 month probationary period. In addition, positions that are 35 + hours per week are contributors to the Municipal Pension Plan.

Qualifications _**
- Education and experience_
- Professional Culinary Training Certificate
- Minimum of three years recent, related experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work may be considered.
- Job skills and abilities_
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good time management and administrative skills.
- Ability to work within budgetary limitations
- Ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in accordance with Agency Cleaning Outcome Standards.
- Ability to assess requirements to development menu, purchases of food and equipment and to oversee the operation of the eating and cooking areas of the facility.
- Accountable to participant complaints; compliant with nutritional requirements
- Ability to lift and carry heavy food supplies
- Other Requirements_
- Criminal record check in accordance with agency policy.
- Medical clearance
- Valid Food safe certificate
- Valid Driver’s License and use of reliable vehicle
- Valid First Aid certificate - preferred
- WHMIS- preferred
- Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination Required
