Assembly Technician

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Electrical and mechanical assembly of equipment
- Dimensioning, layout, mounting of components and wiring of panels and enclosures
- Point-to-point wiring of Motors, Interfaces, & Instrumentation
- Advanced use of electrical and mechanical tools
- Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
- Maintain and communicate red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
- Perform warehouse activities: inventory management and parts dimensioning.
- Communicates effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers, and the Project Manager
- Knowledge of computing and networking fundamentals
- Comfortable working with and supporting technical elements of the solution (Windows environment, OPC, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
**Qualifications/Requirements**
- **Education**:High-school Diploma with at least 2 years of experience or higher education in the related areas is desired (a degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset)
- **Certification**:Not required
**Skills**
- Self Starter
- Works well in a team
- Detail Oriented
- Prepared to work non-traditional hours when required
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- MS Office proficient
**Desired Characteristics**
- Forklift operation certification is desirable
- Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset
- Experience in Metals and Mining or industrial environment
- Eager to learn new skills (e.g. Networking, OPC communications, etc.)
