**Position Description**

The Agrologist position is an opportunity to join a growing team of professionals passionate about the SYLVIS mission to Make Waste History through sustainable residuals management. As a proven and experienced agrologist, this role will be responsible to manage large client-based projects, operationally implementing the beneficial use of biosolids and/or other residuals (wood ash, compost, pulp and paper residuals, landfill leachate, etc.). They will be empowered to lead their project teams with a high level of autonomy to deliver exceptional results on time and on budget. This role will support the business development team through proposal writing and engagement with our clients and potential land partners. It may require you to attend meetings with agricultural producers and participate in trade shows and conferences.

**Functions and Responsibilities**

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Use your interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment both internally and externally. You will develop and maintain key relationships with clients, landowners, and interested parties.
- Network and liaise with potential customers, stakeholders, and industry associations (agriculture, forestry and mining).
- Use exceptional communication skills to deliver high quality presentations and conduct tours for our clients and the public.
- Use project management skills to deliver large-scale operational residuals management projects on-time and on-budget.
- Use technical knowledge of residuals, agronomy, soil science, and plant science to ensure projects are regulatory compliant and executed according to best practices.
- Use your experience at operational sites to mentor junior employees and prioritize a culture of safety.

**Qualifications**
- Degree in a relevant environmental science-based discipline (e.g. agronomy, plant science, soil science, environmental management, environmental engineering)
- Professional Agrologist designation
- Valid Canadian driver’s license

**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum of five years of experience in a relevant role
- Minimum of two years experience signing as a qualified professional in agriculture, forestry, or reclamation
- Excellent professional writing and oral communication skills
- A can-do attitude and superior attention to detail and quality
- Ability to travel to operational sites throughout British Columbia
- An established network with agricultural producers or associations in British Columbia is considered an asset
