**Organization Overview**:
Our Place Peel is a growing, community-based, non-profit charitable organization that is focused on providing shelter and outreach support for homeless and disadvantaged youth aged 16-24 in the Region of Peel. We are a leading organization recognized in the community for our commitment to providing youth in need with a safe environment and access to services to help them achieve independence and foster growth.Our Place Peel is the lead organization for the community collaborative. We will be working with three other youth-serving organizations to lead, develop, and provide safety prevention and intervention.
- **Position Profile**:
Our Place Peel is seeking a highly motivated Program Supervisor to work with the manager of Community Outreach to coordinate and lead the iRise Community Collaborative. In partnership, the collaborative will provide a continuum of care for youth who are involved in, or at risk of, involvement with guns, gangs, and/or violence. The iRise Program Supervisor will lead, develop, and provide prevention, and intervention strategies, programming and a continuum of care; for youth within educational settings and the community. The Program Supervisor will also support programming, care coordination, the peer-led leadership, and safe/brave spaces.The iRise Program consists of powerful workshops that equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and resources to navigate peer pressure, gangs, violence, as well as unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationships. The program is to help youth be empowered to make informed choices and understand the potential impact of their choices.The position will also work with its partners, senior leadership, and the Region of Peel in the development of successful prevention and intervention activities.
- **Role Overview**:
**Program Supervision & Administration**
- Develop community-based prevention and intervention strategies and initiatives to tackle gun and gang activities.
- Facilitate, contribute, and manage regular program meetings while focusing on deliverables, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Document and analyze the program progress and development to assure adherence and evaluate performance.
- Manage the budget for the program, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Create a plan to sustain successful prevention and intervention activities beyond funding completion.
- Compile statistical information and prepare monthly reports.
- Assist with recruiting and hiring and performance management of new employees, volunteers, and students focused on talent that will always act in the best interests of the youth in support.
- Support as a part of the on-call rotation.
**Community Involvement**
- Collaborate with community partners and agencies to support the delivery of the prevention and intervention workshops within the community and educational settings.
- Increase community awareness and the knowledge of the nature, scope, and challenges in Peel to tackle gun and gang activities.
- Act as a role model in promoting a healthy and safe environment, while maintaining processes, procedures and policies for all safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate care, services and resources for youth to support continuum of care.
- Assess appropriate referrals to other professional services or seek management intervention and direction.
- All other duties as required in the successful supervision of program operations while partnering with all stakeholders in support of organizational success.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in Social Services or in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Knowledge of Housing First for youth, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction practices.
- Experience working in or demonstrated knowledge of gender-based violence, family or gun violence and bullying.
- Strong organizational, time management and planning skills.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including some weekends and holidays.
- A valid Ontario’s full G Driver’s Licence is required, with a clean driver’s abstract. If applicable, a $2,000,000 minimum liability car insurance coverage is required.
- Valid CPI/UMAB and First Aid/CPR certifications.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check that meets the standards of Our Place Peel.
- Must be flexible to travel across Peel Region as needed.
