The driver/delivery associate is responsible for delivering products and/or supplies to customers, vendors, job sites, or other corporate locations. Duties include operating freight handling equipment, maintenance and operation of company vehicles, verification of administrative paperwork, and working with the public at large. The delivery person must safely perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to support store efficiency and a high level of customer service.

This position will be a combination of Driver position and a Yard Associate.

RESPONSIBLITES
- Creating a great customer experience by offering outstanding customer service throughout the delivery process.
- Work with support, service, and operations staff to ensure that the customer receives the best experience possible.
- Follow all Safety precautions when operating company vehicles and loading/unloading freight. Always work in a safe manner in accordance with Provincial and Federal Safety Legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management.
- Move heavy or bulky merchandise for customers and sales personnel. Including loading/unloading merchandise and materials.
- Maintain clean and orderly delivery vehicles. Perform light maintenance (checking oil, etc.) and maintain maintenance records.
- Unloading and receiving of inbound inventory with accuracy and care. Advise supervisor of shortages or damaged goods.
- Accurate execution of deliveries by verifying delivery documents.
- Follow company procedures regarding signatures, forms, receipts, etc.
- Ensure that products are properly stocked and ready to be purchased. Store material in the correct location in the yard.
- Assist customers with advice, information, and/or help in gathering and loading orders.
- Keep the yard clean and the inventory neat and orderly.
- Be familiar with the locations of all inventory and equipment.
- Be familiar with the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, including a forklift, lumber cart, pallet jack, etc.
- Take necessary steps to help resolve customer complaints.
- Process special orders for non-stock items and give customers timely notice of incoming special orders.
- Restock lumber bins, sheds, etc. when they are depleted.
- Work on special projects assigned by your supervisor after determining their priority in relation to your other responsibilities.
- Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Outgoing personality with exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Physically able to move merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds to and from company vehicles in the delivery process. Physio assessment will be completed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business demand.
- Technical aptitude and ability to use tools properly.
- Clean driving record.
- Previous delivery experience/Class 3 licenses considered an asset but not required.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment.
