Gardening Foreman

Landform Inc. is a landscape construction company established in 2003 that services Calgary and the surrounding area. We offer Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance - creating and maintaining meaningful spaces such as parks, playgrounds, and restoration projects. In the winter we continue to support communities by offering Snow Removal services. Are you ambitious and eager to make your mark as part of our team as a **Gardening Foreman**? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family-oriented company that is ever-growing. This position is located in Calgary and the surrounding areas.

The **Gardening Foreman **will report to the Maintenance Manager. Crews will meet each day on a construction site (Calgary and surrounding area) or at the Landform yard as determined by the manager.

**Duties include, but are not limited to**:

- Lead a crew of 2 people
- Delegate tasks and oversee the use of tools and equipment
- Train new crew members
- Maintain teamwork within crew and ensure a high standard of quality among crew members
- Assess progress and make recommendations
- Oversee maintenance of lawns and gardens, ensuring proper use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals
- Planting of annuals, perennials, bulbs and shrubs
- Monitor and ensure plant health
- Water, weed and feed plants, trim trees and shrubs, fertilize and mow lawns with push mower
- Edge prune shrubs and plant beds

**Who you are**:

- High school diploma (degree in horticulture an asset)
- Experience as a gardener an asset
- Experience in a leadership role would be an asset
- Able to provide clear written and verbal instructions
- Able to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Able to work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
- Able to multitask and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
- Possess a passion for gardening, physical work and working outdoors with nature
- Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours, a clear schedule to work all hours of the day, any day of the week and a strong work ethic
- Follows all safety rules, policies, and regulations
- Attention to detail and focus on quality of work
- Capable of delegating and coordination
- Reliable and trustworthy personality

Regular full time shifts are Monday to Friday. Compensation will be based on experience. We look forward to hearing from you

**Salary**: $23.00-$24.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
