Join our dedicated team at Jacob's Grill. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic Server Supervisor who loves food and hospitality as much as we do. We offer a chef driven menu, carefully selected wines and local craft beers. You will be working in lively and busy dining room as well as our small street side patio. In addition to taking tables the Server Supervisor assists the Dining Room Manager in their duties to ensure smooth service, efficient scheduling, training staff, ensuring daily side duties are completed, providing excellent customer service, handling complaints, monitoring supplies, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring health and safety and Fat Sparrow standards are always met.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Smart Serve Certified
- 1 year supervising or 5 plus years serving experience
- Conflict Resolution
- Expert Organization Skills
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Knowledge of food, wine, and craft beer
- Some knowledge/experience using Lightspeed (or POS systems in general) is an asset
- Ability to endure long hours standing and walking.
- Must be able to continually lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, and carry items for extended periods of time
- Must have flexible availability

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist with overlooking restaurant operations, mainly with the front of house (dining room and bar)
- Assist with resolving conflicts (ie. dealing with customer complaints as well as issues amongst FOH staff)
- Assist with hiring and training new staff when required
- Assist is scheduling and labour control for the front of house
- Ensuring that staff are following company policies, doing the required side duties and working well together as a team
- Communicating with kitchen staff and manager to ensure restaurant is running smoothly and efficiently at all times
- Minor paperwork/administrative tasks (printing reports, recording staff hours for payroll, running errands for the restaurant, etc.)
- Assist with liquor control, inventory management, and ordering
- Attending management meetings when called upon
- Constantly striving to improve overall quality of the restaurant and workplace
- Maintaining/up-keeping the appearance of the dining room
- Serving a full section while ensuring that restaurant operations are running smoothly
- Opening and closing the restaurant
