The OYAP Outreach Facilitator position will assist with promotional and experiential programming that will help to increase student engagement in the skilled-trades sectors, and apprenticeships. The OYAP Skilled Trades employee will work closely with the OYAP Recruiter and work collaboratively with Bluewater District School Board and Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board staff.

**LOCATION**:Bluewater District School Board Education Centre, Chesley

**COMMENCING**: As soon as possible

***

**HOURS OF WORK**:24.5 hours weekly

***

**SALARY**:$31.45 - 36.79/hour (based on 24.5 hours per week)

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coordinate the use of the Skilled Opportunity Showcase trailer at both elementary and secondary schools.
- Attend and deliver presentations and host events in schools to promote the skilled trades, OYAP and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM).
- Network with schools (Guidance, Co-op, Student Success, and SHSM Lead Teachers) to promote OYAP and initiatives, and events.
- Assist with Implementing strategies to encourage young women and Indigenous youth into skilled trades.
- Attend local community and school events in order to promote OYAP such as the home and garden shows, school, and community events.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE***
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline or licensed journeyperson.
- 1-3 year(s) experience working in the education sector or community workforce development.

**ASSETS**:

- Strong interpersonal abilities - organizational and communication skills;
- Proven ability to work independently, meet concurrent deadlines and priorities;
- Knowledge of skilled trades, apprenticeships, and the local labour market;
- Experience and/or qualifications in the trades;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; and
- Willing to be part of a dynamic team who is focused on increasing student engagement in skilled trades, and apprenticeship.

- Clean drivers abstract
- Clean vulnerable sector police check
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Eligible to work in Canada
