**Role**:
Provides technical and regulatory advice including issues pertaining to water drainage works, impacts to wetlands, surface water management, erosion, flooding, and water control structures within the context of existing and predecessor regulations and sound hydrology, wetland assessment principles, and/or engineering practices.

This position reports to the Compliance Manager.

The additional responsibilities of EPO Wetland Specialist are:

- Support Wetland Policy Implementation
- Participation in the development the provincial wetland program
- Complaint/Incident Response
- Technical support and development of enforcement orders
- Inspections and technical support for remedial investigations
- Educational/Training Programs and Initiatives
- Compliance Sweeps

**Qualifications**:
Two-year technical diploma in a related field (preferably environmental science, engineering, hydrology, ecology) plus seven years related experience in wetland and water management is required.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

The following will be considered as assets:

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science or other directly relevant course of study.
- An Authenticating Professional (or have the ability to qualify as an Authenticating Professional within one year) is preferred.
- Experience as an aquatic environmental professional.
- Knowledge of environment legislation and regulations.

**Salary**:
$2,843.14 to $3,743.28 bi-weekly ($74,205 - $97,699/year)

**Notes**:

- This is a full-time temporary position.
- Monday - Friday, 36.25 hours per week.
- This position requires approximately 25% of time for travel to regional operation.
