Retail Butcher

**Responsibilities**:
- Perform precise and efficient meat cutting, trimming, and portioning to deliver a wide variety of cuts according to customer preferences and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including display cases and cutting equipment, to ensure food safety and presentation.
- Engage with customers to understand their preferences, offer advice, and provide recommendations on different cuts of meat, cooking techniques, and recipe ideas.
- Weigh, price, and label meat products accurately in compliance with pricing guidelines and regulations.
- Receive and inspect incoming meat shipments for quality, freshness, and adherence to safety standards.
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating demand, and coordinating with management for timely replenishment.
- Uphold proper sanitation and hygiene practices to ensure a safe and clean shopping environment for customers.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience, including assisting at the counter during busy periods.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new cuts, and butchery techniques to enhance product knowledge and customer service.
- Adhere to food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of meat products.
- Assist in creating visually appealing meat displays that showcase the variety and quality of our products.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a Butcher, preferably in a retail setting.
- Extensive knowledge of meat cuts, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb, as well as an understanding of the different cooking methods suitable for each cut.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and engage with a diverse range of customers.
- Excellent knife handling skills and the ability to perform precise cuts with efficiency.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a hygienic work environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to stand for extended periods and lift heavy cuts of meat.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products to customers.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by the retail industry.
- A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and a genuine passion for providing outstanding service.

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
