**Roadhouse Interpreter Job Profile**

Historic Hat Creek Ranch is a BC Provincially owned Historic Site and seasonal tourist attraction located in Cache Creek, BC and managed by St’uxwtews Pesuten Heritage Society, a not-for-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors

The purpose of Historic Hat Creek Ranch is to provide educational and interpretive programs that focus on the history of the ranch and the indigenous peoples of the area to the general public, school groups and international visitors.

**Roadhouse Interpreter Job Responsibilities: Answers directly to the Roadhouse Lead InterpreterWorking April to October: 8:30 - 5:30pm Flexible hours, 35 hours, 5 days a week and possible special event hours.**

**Short Description**:
Interpreters are responsible for the daily upkeep and presentation of the Roadhouse and its operation. You will deliver daily tours, programs, and special events at Historic Hat Creek Ranch.

**Specific Duties**
- Provide guided tours and demonstrations to individuals and groups
- Assist in maintaining the heritage buildings through daily cleaning and dusting
- Set up and put away program materials as required
- Feed and water animals on heritage site
- Clean animal pens as required
- Support the safety and security of visitors as well as artifacts and displays
- Assist guests with loading/unloading of stagecoach
- Work alongside volunteers
- Adhere to costume policy and maintain costume cleaning and repair

**Qualifications**
- Excellent customer service skills and guest service oriented
- Possess an interest in history and museum practices
- Experience speaking engagingly, clearly, and audibly to large groups of people
- Willingness to wear Victorian era costumes
- Available to work a non -standard week
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain a criminal/police record check

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
