**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Personal Care, the Assistant Director of Nursing and Personal Care is responsible for the day-to-day management of resident care services. The Assistant Director is required to meet the needs and expectations of the residents in accordance with all Ministry of Long-Term Care (MOLTC) Acts and Regulations, the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario, and Lakeland Long-Term Care’s mission, vision, values, and policies. This includes promoting and fostering resident-centered programs and care that reflects the values and preferences of the residents.
**Qualifications**:
- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse with a current certificate of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Continuing education studies in leadership and management skills.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the Long-Term Care sector.
- A minimum of three (2) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in organizational management in a health care setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices.
- Diploma in Gerontology or other Long-Term Care related education and training is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, team building skills, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, facilitate, and develop training and learning opportunities.
- Knowledge of quality management and demonstrated skills in integrating quality improvement principles and processes in addressing priorities in health care.
- Must be competent in the knowledge and requirements of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act_ and the enforcement of same.
- Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history, and positive work references.
- Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of _Lakeland Long-Term Care_.
