**PROJECTS MANAGER - MATERNITY LEAVE TERM POSITION (June 2023 - July 2024)**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POSITION TITLE**: Projects Manager (PM)

**ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE**:
The Projects Manager reports directly to the Organizational Manager or 2SMB Board of Directors

**CLASSIFICATION**:Administrative Staff

**SUMMARY**:
The PM will
- Oversee the delivery and evaluation of the Infinity project and Medicine Wolf Healing Place Project (Medicine Wolf) work plan and the Parks and Land Coordinator and Parks Engagement Project.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the Medicine Wolf Coordinator
- Work directly and collaboratively with the Engagement Coordinator
- Aid the Medicine Wolf Coordinator with land development and activities
- Aid in the implementation of the organizational strategic plans and planning as it relates to the Infinity project and the Medicine Wolf Project
- Plan and attend a series of meetings with local, provincial and federal departments to raise the organization’s profile
- Take the lead in engaging with 2Spirit & Indigiqueer (2SIQ) community members in legislation and policy development, with the support of the Engagement Coordinator
- Meet with partners, stakeholders, and funding agencies to seek out collaborative opportunities and promote the organization’s mandate and activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Projects Director

**OPERATIONAL**:

- Take the lead on recruitment of contractors for the Infinity & Medicine Wolf Projects, in collaboration with the Projects Director
- Oversee the direction of land development and travel to our land site as required
- Engagement with partner agencies and initiatives to elevate the profile of our land site and organization
- Participate in project meetings, staff planning, and consultations as required
- Engage with the 2SIQ Organizer’s Network to enhance partnerships and province wide connections
- Incorporate of First Nation, Inuit, and Metis perspectives and input in project deliverables

**ADMINISTRATION & FINANCIALS**
- Use the organization’s strategic plans to guide your work and project goals
- Work with the Projects Director to create funding proposals for relevant grant opportunities
- Collect partnership and collaborative data for evaluation and reporting
- Submit monthly reports detailing completed activities and statistical data to the Projects Director
- Attend all relevant staff meetings, and external meetings
- Plan & attend meetings with partners, stakeholders and funding agencies
- Take the lead on preparing travel arrangement and budgets for your projects
- Manage and oversee the project budget and submit monthly spending reports to the Provincial Director
- Complete and submit financial claims and documents for your projects
- Sign off on timesheets and financial claims for staff under your supervision
- Aid the Medicine Wolf Coordinator with volunteer recruitment and management
- Evaluate workplan implementation and overall success and barriers for each of your projects
- Submit Annual Report content for each of your projects with the aid of the Medicine Wolf Coordinator and the Engagement Coordinator
- Assist the Provincial Manager with administrative tasks as needed

**COMMUNICATIONS & ENGAGEMENT**:

- Facilitate effective communication between 2SPM, its partners and stakeholders
- Consult with Elders to incorporate Indigenous ways of being into project delivery
- Research and document best practices for partnership creation and networking
- Engage with 2SIQ community members on matters of proposed policies, legislation and programming that will affect their lives
- Develop presentations for meetings with potential partners and funders
- Create project specific posters, online visuals and graphics as needed
- Promote events and project activities to the 2S/Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ community
- Aid the Engagement Coordinator with social media management as needed
- Collaborate with the Engagement Coordinator to plan and implement annual “Round Table” networking event.

**ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECT MANAGEMENT**:

- Scope the project and provide all pre-construction information to the construction management company.
- Maintain relationships within the community and pertaining to the construction project.
- Provide monthly reports to the board of directors and Housing & Shelter subcommittee.
- Manage the overall project and help the construction company to ensure and handle health and safety risks.
- Oversee and review all the management processes throughout the entire project from a client’s perspective.
- Ensure the construction company has a proper project plan.
- Maintain regular monitoring of the quality and control of the project.
- Effectively facilitate meetings with all stakeholders throughout the project’s life cycle.
