_Kinsol is headquartered in Mill Bay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. This role is expected to be hybrid, in that pre-construction activities will take place on Vancouver Island, but during construction execution individuals will need to be comfortable performing work across Canada for varying durations of time. _

**Technical Skills**:

- Solid understanding of mass timber construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings related to mass timber structures.
- Experience in managing and overseeing the installation of mass timber components, including CLT, glulam columns and beams, and other engineered wood products.
- Strong knowledge of construction codes, regulations, and safety standards related to mass timber construction.
- Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges in real-time to ensure project milestones are met.
- Core competency in Microsoft Office and document management.
- Capacity to create or contribute to standard operating procedures; both at a project and intercompany level.
- Broad understanding of Logistics. Knowledge and experience of planning and moving material globally, throughout North America, and on the job is fundamental for our Supervisors.
- Work with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environment.
- Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
- Create, review and update project schedules and three week lookaheads.
- Coordinate plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
- Develop and implement site utilization plan and establish crew sizes.
- Conduct effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings.
- Strong knowledge in ordering, set up, rigging, belling, and training with cranes.

**Leadership Skills**:

- Lead, motivate, and manage on-site teams of craftsmen, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Be of service, to those who report to you as well as those you report to.
- Model the behavior that sets the standards for Kinsol culture, operations, quality, and safety for all of our employees; from apprentice to owner.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence, consistently demonstrating a commitment to standard operating procedures (best practices) and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication and alignment of project objectives.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling their professional growth within the mass timber construction field.
- Problem-solve with agility, making informed decisions under pressure to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Provide work direction and performance evaluations.
- Identity hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissal decisions.
- Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Proven track record as a Superintendent or Site Supervisor in (mass timber preferred) construction projects.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across different locations, throughout Canada.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional results.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Embraces new technologies.
- Experience in both union & non-union environments.
