**Job Description**:
AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Specialist to be based out of our London, ON office. As a Geotechnical Specialist you will work on varied projects and develop your skills with guidance and mentorship from our senior geotechnical engineers. This is a Full-time role.

**Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Manage, coordinate and conduct a wide variety of geotechnical investigations with support from Senior staff related, but not limited to transportation, railway, civil municipal, commercial and service utilities.

+ Oversee field investigations, site inspections and preparation of borehole records and reports;
+ Support engineers carrying out projects requiring geotechnical work: site investigations, settlement analysis, foundation design, slope stabilization and construction.

+ Provide geotechnical project management and technical support in support of on-going AECOM projects.

+ Work with other geotechnical staff in Ontario markets as well as across Canada and the world to provide the geotechnical project management and design services to current and prospective clients.

+ Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering consultants and other external agencies.

+ Potentially frequent travel to complete field investigation assignments which include but may not be limited to: borehole drilling investigations and forensic geotechnical assessment projects.

+ Prepare proposals for medium to high complexity projects for various geotechnical scope of work.

+ Carry out geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting related to transportation, municipal, building, environmental, and energy projects.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering etc.)

+ 2+ years of professional industry experience since graduation in providing practical civil and geotechnical engineering services relevant to a variety of projects (transportation, civil, municipal, energy, utilities, building structures, and commercial).

**Preferred Qualifications**:
+ Post graduate degree in engineering.

+ Currently registered or eligible for registration with PEO as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration.

+ 4+ years of professional industry experience highly preferred.

+ Experience working in an engineering consulting environment.

+ Experience with project management.

+ Experience with construction oversight, QAQC, and contract administration.

+ Experience with proposal writing, job scoping, and project planning.

+ Knowledge in soil and rock mechanics engineering and project experience.

+ Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.

+ Proficiency with rendering and geotechnical software e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Settle3D, and gINT.

+ Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.

+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

+ Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct yourself with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.

+ Highly developed written communication, time management and organizational skills.

+ Have strong organizational ability, manage multiple projects and deliver on time and on budget.

+ Coordination of designs with drafting teams and/or personal proficiency with AutoCAD.

+ Valid G class driver's license.

+ A strong commitment to safety.

+ Relocation is not available for this position.

+ Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

+ Offered rate of compensation in London, ON will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000.
