Junior Toolmaker

AMS Automated Manufacturing Systems is focused on introducing the next generation of automation in manufacturing & assembly. Our innovative core competencies lie on Automation Assembly in the Automotive Industry, using various Assembly, Welding, & Laser Technologies. We are looking for talented, dedicated and self-motivated individuals to assist with the growth and expansion of AMS.

We are looking for a Junior Toolmaker / Machine Builder to join our growing, dynamic team

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Read and understand technical drawings to determine materials and machines required to fabricate parts
- Develop specifications from general descriptions of specialty tools
- Modify and shim tooling and fixtures into required specifications
- Assemble machines and tooling as per specifications
- Test parts and identify any defects; ensure parts meet specifications
- Assist other trades and operators as required
- Identify potential improvements and provide solutions in a timely manner
- Ensure machines and hand tools are working in a safe manner; troubleshoot and resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
- Act safely, within fabrication shop rules and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned

**Professional Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automation manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive.
- Minimum of 1 year related experience or training
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Experience with welding is an asset
- Forklift license is an asset
- Ability to operate tools and machinery safely
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail; tight deadlines, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Adept to change and constant improvement
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
