**IMMEDIATE OPENINGS - ROADSIDE MOWERS**

Under the direction of the Agricultural Manager, the Roadside Mower is responsible to carry out vegetation control operating a large tractor and mower on County roadsides, in accordance with Athabasca County’s Vegetation Management program.

This seasonal position runs from approximately mid-May to October and offers a busy season of work for those who have experience operating a tractor and enjoy working independently outdoors. Due to adverse weather conditions, work may not be on a regular scheduled basis.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Grass and brush cutting along county roadways to perform mowing operations in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with Athabasca County procedures.

2. Regular cleaning and light maintenance of all trucks & equipment to maintain in good condition.

3. Reporting to Supervisor and/or Shop Foreman any damages or malfunctions of operated trucks & equipment.

4. Maintain and submit daily activity records of fuel, blades, CMP’s, and inventory items, and other tracking as required.

5. Maintaining and submitting daily time sheets for Supervisor’s approval, that include hour meter readings, as well as fuel and oil usage of equipment operated.

6. Ensuring safe work practices are observed at all times.

7. Maintain courteous and professional interactions with the public, other contractors, Council members, and other co-workers.

8. Other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Previous experience operating large tractors and mowers
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety programs
- Knowledge of Athabasca County an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 4-5 months

Pay: From $29.07 per hour

Schedule:
