About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Tax, Accounting, and Financial Reporting to oversee the implementation of corporate tax strategies, ensure accurate financial reporting, and act as a key advisor to ownership. This role is crucial in bridging third-party expert advice with internal processes to ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Tax and Compliance
- Implement corporate tax strategies provided by third-party advisors and ensure alignment with accounting practices.
- Prepare, review, and file corporate tax returns, including HST/GST filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Act as the primary liaison between ownership and third-party tax advisors, translating advice into actionable internal processes.
- Critically evaluate and challenge tax strategies and advice to optimize outcomes for the company.

Financial Reporting
- Prepare and oversee accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP).
- Ensure financial statements reflect the accurate implementation of tax strategies.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to ownership.
- Maintain internal controls to support accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Advisory and Leadership
- Provide insights and recommendations to ownership on accounting, tax, and compliance-related matters.
- Collaborate with and challenge third-party advisors to ensure optimal strategies.
- Act as a resource for ownership, answering complex tax and accounting questions.
- Ensure internal staff (if applicable) align with financial and tax compliance standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax, accounting, and financial reporting roles.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax laws, HST/GST regulations, and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
- Experience in real estate or hospitality is an asset but not required.
- Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to challenge advice and find optimal solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with ownership and external advisors.
