Department Overview

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.

Our **Co-op/Intern Programming **is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles, and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

- Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation

As a leading corporate and investment bank, TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporations, governments and institutions. Our clients choose us for our knowledge, innovation and experience in the following key areas of finance: investment, corporate and government banking, capital markets, interest rate, currency and derivative product

In this role, you will be expected to:

- Support successful execution of relevant reporting, operational requests, and relevant transactional requests for the business unit and client
- Conduct less complex analytics and research, and obtain/share internal and external relevant business/market data
- Assist with building and reviewing internal models, tools, processes, policies, presentations, and other related materials; challenge team and improve the underlying processes of functional area
- Prioritize and manage own workload to meet service level agreement requirements for service and productivity
- Consistently exercise discretion in managing information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
- Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
- Support the team by continuously enhancing knowledge / expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
- Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team
- Process transactions and activities that could be characterized by low to moderate risk and require process knowledge for own area of expertise
- Take a broad perspective to identify and resolve issues that are atypical, infrequent or not covered by stated processes

**Requirements**:

- Enrolled in a Graduate level program with a discipline of Mathematics, Statistics, or Equivalent
- Strong mathematical skills in areas including probability, stochastic calculus, stochastic differential equations and linear algebra.
- Knowledge of current financial derivative pricing models. Experience with interest rates and FX pricing models is desirable.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++. Experience with Python and VBA is also desirable.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, support other team members in achieving project/ business objectives and providing client services.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent requests and work well in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

**Early Talent Requirements**
- This position is a 4-month work term and will commence September 5th - December 22nd, 2023
