The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry Check and
Adult Abuse Registry Check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Current certification from a recognized Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtain within three (3)
months of commencing employment
- Safe Patient Handling
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Approved Anatomy and Physiology course completed within the last five (5) years an asset
- Experience with adult and pediatric orthopedic conditions
- Demonstrated ability and to utilize proper body mechanics related to lifting, turning, positioning and
transferring
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced clinical environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to respect and promote a cultural diverse population
- Satisfactory employment record required
