**In this role you will**:

- Collaborate between different operating groups, and promote innovation and sustainability culture.
- Conducting audits of existing residential to identify energy, water and carbon savings opportunities (Toronto, Calgary, potentially BC regions).
- Use real-time utility data to identify site operational issues, and work with site staff to resolve issues.
- Assist in preparing business cases and justification for retrofit projects incorporating capital and operating costs, life cycle analysis and incentives.
- Coordinate utility data collection for internal and external reporting programs, including Ontario’s EWRB, City of Montreal’s GHG emission disclosure, City of Toronto’s Green Will Initiative, City of Ottawa’s energy benchmarking and Minto’s annual ESG report.
- Track building historical utility consumption and work with the building operations group to prioritize the roll-out of portfolio-wide projects, and track progress of roll-out.
- Assist in the development of Minto’s portfolio net-zero carbon planning, and subsequent implementation of deep retrofits and decarbonization projects to achieve short and long-term carbon reduction goals.
- Track carbon emissions and submit documentation to the Science Based Target Initiative relative to Minto’s 2030 and 2050 carbon reduction targets.
- Prepare building assessment reports to identify opportunities for operational improvements and capital projects.
- Perform on-site review of sustainability projects in Toronto during installation and commissioning.
- Estimate utility consumption for new-construction projects.
- Conduct due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions.
- Participate in other sustainability related initiatives as may be required.

**Who we're looking for**:

- Minimum relevant post-secondary education in Engineering, (P.Eng., EIT) with a focus on designing building mechanical systems or building operation/maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), LEED GA or LEED AP+ Specialty designations would be an asset.
- Minimum 3-5 year’s experience in the following: energy efficiency or management, building system design (mechanical), building commissioning or building operations.
- Understanding of operation and maintenance of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Lighting, Building Automation, Controls and other building systems
- Ability to read and understand building drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of the following is an asset:Energy Star Portfolio Manager, RETScreen, Yardi Pulse

LEED, Fitwel, PassiveHouse certification systems
Science Based Target Initiative, GRESB, EWRB
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written), able to simplify and communicate technical information
- Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook
- Demonstrated resourcefulness
- Self-motivated/able to work with little supervision: takes personal responsibility to set and achieve goals
- Team player, strong interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills, and able to prioritize multiple projects and tasks
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
