**Part-Time Study Abroad Counselor Job Description**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Student Counseling**:Provide personalized guidance to students seeking to study abroad, addressing their academic and personal goals, interests, and aspirations.
Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to discuss program options, admission requirements, and cultural considerations.
Assist students in identifying programs that align with their academic and career objectives.
**Program Selection**:Research and stay updated on study abroad programs, universities, colleges, and vocational institutions in various countries.
Evaluate program offerings, curriculum, faculty, and extracurricular opportunities to match students with suitable options.
Provide guidance on standardized tests, language proficiency requirements, and other necessary prerequisites.
**Cultural Orientation**:Offer cultural insights and advice to help students adapt to the local customs, traditions, and academic expectations of their chosen destination.
Provide resources and recommendations for language learning, cultural immersion, and integration strategies.
**Logistical Support**:Advise students on visa and immigration processes, health insurance, housing arrangements, and travel arrangements.
Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure students are well-informed and prepared for their journey abroad.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience in student advising, counseling, or study abroad programs is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of international education systems and study abroad opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
