**Pro-Can Construction Group Corp.,** a Burnaby based General Contractor with over 38 years of experience, is currently looking for a qualified Lead Carpenter to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work on site under the Site Superintendent, assisting with trade management, carpentry and general labour requirements on the field
- Expedite the project schedule through efficient and quality work
- Assist the Site Superintendent in managing day-to-day activities on site and ensure that the project runs smoothly from start to finish
- Assist the Site Superintendent in managing construction Sub-Trades and suppliers on the job site and mitigate issues that may arise in the course of a project
- Read/comprehend project drawings
- Attend pre-project handover meetings
- Schedule project manpower needs with PM
- Perform or delegate Site Layout
- Attend Daily or Weekly Site meetings
- Perform onsite material & quantity take-off’s
- Check Quality of work performed by crews and provide feedback
- Ability to effectively manage personnel
- Estimate time durations for changes with Project Manager
- Sign-off on employee’s time sheets
- Promote the safe and efficient use of equipment, advancing a culture of safety at all times
- Maintain a safe work site by instructing crews how to use tools and equipment, how to handle materials and what safety equipment is necessary when performing tasks
- Promote and carry out Company’s values of quality and productivity at all times

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

- 3-5+ years' experience in Construction Industry
- Construction knowledge - overall understanding of construction process, sequencing, etc.
- Experience in Commercial, Tenant Improvements and New Construction
- Experience in reading blueprints, drawings and specifications
- Experience in team leadership and crew management
- Their own vehicle (this is absolutely required - public transit is not an option)
- Experience with MS Office and MS Project would be an asset
- Problem solving, resourceful, organized
- Ability to run multiple crews
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of trade
- Able to read blue prints
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Their own vehicle
- Experience with MS Office and MS Project would be an asset
- Must speak fluent English and have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Level 1 First Aid

**Salary**: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
