**Main Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Supporting the development of positive and engaging communications to promote corporate initiatives and align with Member's and Stakeholder's needs.
- Developing and implementing a communication strategy that enhances collaboration with international partners, private sector actors, academia, and research institutions.
- Managing, developing, and executing social media and digital plans to support programs and campaigns, while compiling social media analytics and adapting the overall social media strategy accordingly.
- Coordinating (formatting/proofreading) documents such as an annual report, corporate plans and reports, FAQs, presentations, and other important externally facing material.
- Coordinating media engagements, appearances, and presentations for the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Egmont Group.
- Liaising with pressing media and responding to media inquiries while preparing media briefings and press releases when needed.
- Developing communications strategies and guidelines to optimize and streamline Egmont Group communications.
- Develop, implement, and support communication activities relating to the ECOFEL, a prominent capacity-building program of the Egmont Group.
- Assisting in the oversight of the Egmont Group and ECOFEL websites and optimizing the ongoing performance of all online content.
- Developing communication plans for Egmont event meetings and other related activities.
- Providing support for other communications initiatives directed by Executive Secretary and EGS Managers as necessary.
- Promoting the Egmont Group’s activities through external communication and social media-based professional networking platforms, like LinkedIn, with content based on publicly available information.

**Key Competencies and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing or another relevant discipline
- 5 years of progressive experience in Communications, public relations, or related role
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
- Strong verbal skills in English, working knowledge of French is considered an asset.
- Strategic thinker, ability to analyze complex and specialized information and present in plain language.
- Experience across all communication channels including printed materials, traditional and social media, annual reports, media relations, etc.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Ability to present to various audiences including to senior management.
- Ability to work and prioritize with multiple competing deadlines.
- Strong strategic planning skills
- High degree of accountability with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly self-motivated and results-oriented
- Ability to work as needed outside of work hours to meet business needs

**Assets and other requirements**:

- Familiarity and experience with government or non-profit industry
- The Communication Officer could be asked to travel to International/Local conferences. You must have a valid passport and comply with vaccination protocols to travel internationally at any time.

**Salary**: $69,000.00-$74,000.00 per year
