**Foundry Technician**
VMAC is looking for an experienced Foundry Technician with a background in molding, to prepare molds, melt and pour aluminum, break down molds and heat treat castings. This position is a key role within VMAC’s Foundry team dedicated to expanding our presence in the industrial equipment market. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute within a dynamic team environment. We're expanding our in-house aluminum sand casting foundry, and we need two talented individuals to join the VMAC family.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
As a Foundry Technician reporting to the Foundry Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our production process. Here's what you'll be doing:
- Prepare molds, melt and pour aluminum, break down molds, heat treat castings, and other exciting duties.
- Collaborate with the design, production, supply chain and quality teams to produce high-quality, low volume castings and moldings efficiently.
- Understand safety protocols and ensure all work is completed with safety at the forefront.
- Participate in the development and implementation of company-wide department initiatives to achieve strategic goals and objectives of the company.
- Engage in company-wide continuous improvement ideas.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Moldmaker, Molder or Core Maker ticket an asset.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a foundry.
- Forklift ticket considered an asset.
- Team Player.
- Precise and detail oriented.
- Capable of heavy workload and multitasking.
- Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing considered an asset.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
