We are looking to hire a **Groundskeeper** to be responsible for the landscaping and lawn maintenance of the outdoor grounds surrounding our expansive facility—mowing the lawns and maintaining the healthy growth of our trees and grass, and keeping the property uncluttered, clean, and well-manicured. The job is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends.
- **Duties & Responsibilities**_
- Perform regular lawn maintenance including mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
- Plant and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees to enhance the landscape.
- Operate snow plows to clear snow from roads and parking areas.
- Clear snow and ice from sidewalks to ensure pedestrian safety.
- Operate light machinery, including a Bobcat (skid steer), mini hoe, and outdoor forklift.
- Conduct minor repairs and general upkeep on buildings and facilities.
- Duties will change due to seasonal work.
- **Skills & Qualifications Required**_
- Previous experience in a groundskeeping-related role, including part-time
- Experience in landscaping and gardening is considered an asset
- Thorough understanding of lawn and tree maintenance, and how best to care for them
- Familiarity with the use and maintenance of lawn and landscaping tools and equipment
- Sufficiently able-bodied to handle regular manual labour, including the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment
- Knowledge of all pertinent rules and regulations regarding the use of certain pesticides and herbicides
- Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
