As Canada's leading child and youth mentoring charity, Big Brothers Big Sisters facilitates life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens. Our agency came into being in 1987, one of many agencies across Canada.
We are seeking a smart compassionate individual who loves kids (Littles) and who would like to be part of a growing team to provide solid mentoring for Littles at risk in the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
**Qualifications: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Child/Youth Studies ECE, Social Work or similar field.**
Experience: It would be an asset if you have worked with children, youth, families in a direct service role.
You will need a current Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry check as well as maintaining a valid Nova Scotia driver's license with insurance level of minimum of $1,000,000. You will be reimbursed for mileage relevant to your work visits to families, etc.
The coordinator is able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. This includes the agency staff as well as the Big, Little, parent/guardians and community partners. You will meet and introduce "Bigs" and "Littles" and parent/guardians in each match. You will be the primary contact and avenue of support for each match either In-School Matches (ISM) or Community-based.

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
