Under the direction of the Transportation Services Supervisor, is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a diesel
highway tractor with a GVW of up to 62,500 kg. They will be required to haul poles, materials, and equipment of various sizes and
weights throughout the Province of Manitoba. They will also be responsible for safe self-loading and self-offloading and have a
thorough understanding and knowledge of all Federal and Provincial regulations pertaining to the position.

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Operate a diesel highway tractor-trailer with a G.V.W up to 62,500 kg, with a truck-mounted hydraulic crane, in accordance

with the Highway Traffic Act and Manitoba Hydro standards and policies.
- Ensure all required documentation and activities are accurately recorded, including but not limited to; Bills of Lading, packing

lists, hazardous material placards and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), work completed, hours, and daily journals.
- Ensure any special material handling requirements are followed and understood in compliance with shipper's instructions and

follow all applicable regulations and legislation.

- Maintain electronic Motor Vehicle Operators Daily Log Per: Highway Traffic Act.
- Responsible for the preventative maintenance of equipment including diesel motors, air brake/air ride systems, and various
- other tools and equipment appropriate to Manitoba Hydro Fleet Standards and Corporate Policy.- Complete all required Operator Driver training requirements.
- Possess the ability to plan and coordinate complex transfers of oversized or overweight loads requiring permits and escorts,
- when required.- Required to drive on all types of roads anywhere in Manitoba under extreme conditions.

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Minimum Grade 12 education and possess a valid Province of Manitoba Class 1 Driver's Licence, c/w airbrake endorsement.
- Three years of related experience in the operation of highway tractors in all types of weather and road conditions, with
- knowledge and expertise in loading, hauling, and offloading materials and equipment while using various types of trailers.- Must be able to work independently under limited supervision.
- Possess or obtain certification for truck mounted crane, skid steer, forklift, or any other equipment required to operate.
- Must be able to perform all work in accordance with life saving rules, safe work procedures and Provincial regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and complete written job plans, identifying hazards, required barriers, and be able to direct
- others to ensure a safe work environment.- Possess or obtain certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazard Material Information System

**_ Salary Range_**

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $26.12-$34.84 Hourly,
$50,059.36-$66,753.96 Annually.
