The Health and Wellness Promotion Branch provides strategic direction and leadership in development of provincial policy in the following areas:

- Communicable Disease Control;
- Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infection;
- Immunization and vaccine logistics;
- Health Promotion;
- Promotion of population wellness and health equity;
- Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Development;
- Injury Prevention;
- School, Community and Workplace Wellness;
- Healthy Eating;
- Physical Activity;
- Chronic Condition/Disease Prevention (including cancer); and
- Population Health Screening (including cancer).

A key objective is to safeguard Albertans from communicable diseases through initiatives aimed at decreasing sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, and through increased immunization for vaccine-preventable diseases, such as influenza, COVID-19 and measles.

**Role**:
The Health and Wellness Promotion Branch is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual that would help control the distribution of biological products for the publicly funded immunization program from the Provincial Vaccine Depot (PVD) to other vaccine depot, wholesaler and First Nation locations throughout the province.

This position is part of a team that collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure biologicals are received, stored, distributed, and handled according to the department's cold chain storing and handling policies.

Key responsibilities include, warehouse operations of the PVD including ordering, receiving, packing and distributing all provincially funded biological products. In addition to the daily operations, this position also provides support in the event of outbreaks, emergencies and pandemic influenza programs.

**Qualifications**:
Two year technical diploma in a related field, such as Biological Sciences or Pharmacy Technician is required.

Experience with cold chain management, handling, distribution and inventory directives and guidelines is considered an asset.

Pallet truck certification is desirable.

Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of:

- one year of education for one year of experience; or
- one year of experience for one year of education.
