**Position Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Vehicle Repairs**: Perform structural and non-structural repairs on damaged vehicles, including full disassembly, straightening, welding, and replacement of damaged parts.
- **Surface Preparation**: Sand, prime, and prep repaired surfaces for painting while maintaining industry standards.
- **Precision Work**: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, frame straightening equipment, and welding techniques to achieve factory-quality results.
- **Parts Replacement**: Assess and replace damaged components such as panels, bumpers, glass, and other auto body parts.
- **Damage Assessment**: Conduct thorough inspections to identify repair needs, documenting damage and recommending solutions.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure all repairs meet or exceed safety and aesthetic standards, performing test drives or system checks when necessary.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with estimators, insurance adjusters, and team members to ensure accurate repair planning and seamless communication.
- **Safety Compliance**: Follow all OSHA and shop safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in automotive collision repair, with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Certification in auto body repair and welding (I-CAR, ASE, or equivalent preferred).
- Proficiency in using repair equipment, such as MIG welders, frame machines, and power tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, structural integrity, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, OEM procedures and repair estimates.
- Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Strong work ethic, with the ability to manage time efficiently, handle multiple concurrent assignments and complete tasks to high standards with mínimal supervision.
**Key Skills**
- Welding and fabrication expertise
- Knowledge of paint matching and refinishing
- General physical skills (long periods of standing, kneeling, carrying, lifting - 100 lbs)
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
- On-the-job exposure to fumes, dirt, heat/cold, noise, hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
