**Position Summary**
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a small, nimble operation involved in the entire value chain from students to full member professional geoscientists, from recruitment and admissions through to monitoring of professional practice in Nova Scotia for geoscientists. Reporting to the APGNS Council and Executive Council, the Registrar is an integral part of the recruitment and admission team, which is responsible for the activities related to the recruitment and admission of applicants to APGNS.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain current, up to date database of members and status of members (Professional Geoscientists, Members in Training, Student Committee, Corporate Certificate Holders).
- Audit annual member career development records.
- Organize Professional Practice Examinations for applicants.
- Enforcement of the Geoscience Profession Act and By-laws.
- Support for volunteer committees and communication between Council and APGNS Committees, such as and not limited to, the Admissions Board, Nominations Committee, Audit/Finance Committee, Student Committee, as well as the APGNS Annual General Meeting.
- Provide monthly reports to Council on Registrar's activities.
- Participate in market recruitment strategies including but not limited to campus visits, high school visits, government visits, and student-industry-government networking events as required.
- Other duties include representing the Association with:
- The General Public,
- Sister Professional Organizations,
- Geoscientists Canada,
- The membership and applicants (new members), and
- Government (all levels)
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-office and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements.
**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree with a minimum of five years related administrative experience in a post-secondary environment (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Proficient record-keeping skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and other digital tools).
- Familiar with monthly financial statements, year-end budgeting, and bookkeeping skills
- Excellent organizational, communication (written, verbal) and time management skills.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
**Salary**: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
