**Your role**
- The news service in Montreal is the beating heart of Radio-Canada News and Current Affairs - the central point of convergence for the news of the day, be it local, national or international. This is where all national newscasts are taped and broadcast. And it wouldn’t happen without the outstanding work of our journalists and the valuable contribution of our colleagues from regional stations.
- Today, we are looking for a Cross-Platform Managing Editor to join our team. The position will be assigned on the weekend, being in charge of newsgathering, the Téléjournal newscasts (Friday to Sunday) and RDI.
- To succeed in this role, you must have extensive journalism experience, sharp news sense and superior editorial judgment, as you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and monitoring the production of news content for TV, radio and digital platforms. Your creativity and knowledge of current news reporting trends will also enable you to generate original, innovative story ideas to evolve programs and content across our TV, radio and digital platforms.

**Please note it is a weekend assignment (Thursday to Sunday).**

**Qualifications**:
- University degree in journalism or a related field-
- Ten (10) or more years’ journalism experience**Skills**:
- Superior knowledge of journalistic processes, newsgathering methods as well as production of stories, programs and content for TV, radio and digital platforms-
- Superior editorial judgment and comprehensive understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices (see our website)-
- Extensive current events knowledge and strong analytical skills-
- Knowledge of the media and communications industry-
- Good understanding of continuous news-
- Experience in managing schedules and programming-
- Significant team management experience (planning, organizing, deploying, directing and scheduling)-
- Strong interpersonal skills and ease at managing workplace conflicts-
- Creative and innovative mind-
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple developing stories-
- Ability to work independently and anticipate events-
- Superior French-language skills (language of work)-
- Knowledge of English is an asset-
