**WAGE**:$17.36 hourly

**HOURS**: 5:30am - 1:30pm and 1:30pm - 8:30pm with the ability to work weekdays and weekends (commitment of every other weekend required)., Minimum of 15-20 hours per week with lots of availability to pick up additional hours.

The Health Screener is a critical role within our community as it affects the lives of residents and staff. This role can periodically be emotionally draining when dealing with frail and aging residents and circumstances related to Covid-19.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Greet those entering the building in a professional and attentive manner.
- Ask staff and external care providers entering the building a set of questions, consistent with Ministry of Health guidelines before granting access to the workplace.
- Take and record employee's temperature both on entry and exit using the thermometer provided, record in the screening Log accordingly.
- Assist with essential caregiver and visitors screening for scheduled visits
- Escalate situations to the Charge Nurse in accordance with screening protocols.
- Assemble Face Shields when required during downtime in accordance with work instructions.
- Disinfect face shields during downtimes to ensure sufficient supply is available during peak times.
- Maintain order and monitor supply levels.
- Share information to employees as protocols change and ensure that they are following proper precautionary measures.
- Assist with mealtimes in our resident Dining area
- Vacuum and Sanitize common areas throughout the Home, following all infection control practices
- Wear PPE as assigned in a consistent and effective manner
- Must commit to being swabbed for COVID in accordance to Ministry of Health directives

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Grade 12 Education or working towards it

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- May involve prolonged standing and/or sitting. Must be able to stoop, lift, bend, push, pull, kneel as well as perform all physical functions necessary to clean.
- Ability to work up to 8 hour in a shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Exercise a demonstrated knowledge of WHIMIS and the chemicals used within the housekeeping department.
- Able to articulate clearly and keep details notes related to the Screening Worksheet.
- Commitment to wear Personal Protective Equipment (mask, face shield, gloves, and gown) and other prescribed equipment, if / when required.
- Warm and welcoming in dealing with residents, staff and external care providers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
