**SUMMARY**:
The Employer Liaison serves as the key point of contact between Achev and local employers. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with businesses, understanding their workforce needs, and facilitating job placements and training opportunities for job seekers. The Employer Liaison works to ensure that the programs and services offered align with employer requirements and contribute to the overall goal of reducing unemployment and underemployment in the community.
The Employer Liaison may also provide Job Retention assistance, for those clients who need additional coaching and mentoring in order to maintain employment or to make the next step on their career path. The Employer Liaison role may be required to provide part or all aspects of the Assisted Services model.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
**Employer Engagement**:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and industry partners, ensuring a deep understanding of their hiring needs and workforce challenges.
- Engage and onboard 12 new employers each month to expand our network.
- Manage employer accounts to maintain relationships with 100 active employers across 10 sectors, ensuring their needs are met and promoting Employment Ontario services and programs, including job matching and training opportunities.
- Organize and participate in job fairs to promote employment opportunities.
**Job Matching and Placement**:
- Assist in matching individuals, particularly those facing barriers to employment, with suitable job opportunities based on their skills and interests.
- Facilitate job matching activities to support 10 job-ready clients per week, achieving an employment outcome of 15 employed clients per month.
- Maintain an active job board by generating 25 job postings every month to connect job seekers with employers.
- Facilitate work opportunities and negotiate employment relationships on behalf of clients, including placement agreements that outline training objectives and commitments.
- Ensure employers meet all eligibility criteria and conduct site visits prior to placements to confirm a suitable and safe work environment.
- Offer sensitivity/diversity training and workplace safety training to employers as needed.
- Monitor placements and provide coaching and support to resolve workplace issues, ensuring participant success during and after placements.
**Job Retention**:
- For individuals needing enhanced support, develop a resource pool of mentors/coaches and create support plans in collaboration with clients and employers.
- Link participants with mentors and coaches to provide ongoing support during and after job placements.
- Monitor the mentor/coach relationship and its impact on workplace success, adjusting as necessary.
**Job Search Support**:
- Facilitate structured, individualized job search support, either in groups or one-on-one.
- Conduct workplace orientation, covering employer expectations, rights, and Canadian workplace culture.
- Support clients in assessing their qualifications against job requirements and provide information on professional accreditation and prior learning assessments.
- Facilitate access to additional services, including education and training resources.
**Additional Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Utilize the EOIS system for tracking clients, conducting follow-ups, and recording activities.
- Collaborate with the Site Coordinator to update individual action plans and supports.
- Provide assistance to other areas of the Employment Services delivery model as required, demonstrating flexibility in service delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree or related College Diploma or demonstrated skills and experience in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Services, or a Sales and Marketing related field.
- Experience in employer relations, Recruitment,, Job Placement and Incentives or Job Retention including employment/coaching, HR and sales
- Strong understanding of the local job market and employment trends.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
