What You'll Do- To carry out, start to finish, independently, a large number of complex rate programs and/or enhancements for all provinces and companies including requirements, design, rate table updates, testing and co-ordination with other departments.- To support complex projects where the tasks are loosely defined and require the analyst to determine the approach to be taken.- Gather business requirements for complex rating & underwriting projects or enhancements. Write requirement documentation and suggest design alternatives with end users to meet their needs.- Identify impacts on business processes based on detailed solutions and strategies as well as being able to identify when changes in underwriting systems will affect other business units.- Provide mentoring and training to junior/intermediate business analysts. Be able to work independently and manage own workload while providing guidance to junior staff. Bring a detailed knowledge of personal lines products and their rating/underwriting to the development process.- Execute planned requirements activities while remaining flexible to changing requirements based on project deadlines.- Test all changes prior to implementation to ensure quality and accuracy.- Approval of plans and timelines for all changes and projects within the team. Be able to provide estimates for all tasks assigned.- Ensure the delivery of work to customer’s satisfaction through the use of project management practices including change management, release management and post mortem reviews.

What You'll Bring- Minimum 5 years insurance/underwriting experience- Minimum 5 years prior Business Analyst experience working on complex changes- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Access- Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities- Strong customer service focus- Excellent communication skills- Solid knowledge of Company technology and business processes- Prior experience working in an agile environment is an asset- College or University Degree
