are also flexible if you can not work during school hours*. This position aims to provide individual-centered assistance to help maintain his independence while achieving his personal goals. As his community support worker, you will be performing the following duties and responsibilities.
- Supporting and transporting individual to social or recreational activities
- Administering and recording medication(s)
- Adapting and rescheduling individuals day accordance to behavioural/mood changes
- Consistently ensuring a safe and positive environment for the individual
- Consistently assess individual's needs and wants with Microboard member(s) to generate short-term schedules
- Accompanies and/or individual medical appointments, recreational, social and leisure activities
- Other assigned duties by Microboard *Why Join Us?*

- Preferred: diploma in child and youth care, psychology, or related social
- services field and/or 2 years related experience
- Community Support Worker Certificate/Long Term Care Aid Certificate or equivalent experience
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual, behavioral, and physical challenges
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Ability to efficiently move and transfer individuals with a reliable van *Skills, Abilities & Knowledge*
- Knowledgeable of the local community, activities, and events
- Ability to support individuals who communicate through behavioral and physically means in a dignified manner
- Strong rapport building/relational skills, that includes respectful interactions
- with youth, caregivers, school, and community
- Ability to perform basic household duties: as part of lifes kills training with
- youth - cleaning, chores, laundry, meals, outdoor chores
- Ability to the work as team player with family, friends, and Microboard members
- Empathy, patience and a compassionate approach
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Understanding of client confidentiality and privacy
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Basic computer literacy *Special Requirements*
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including criminal record check) or be willing to obtain on
- Valid driver’s abstract from ICBC
- Reliable vehicle
- Completed and signed Medical Consent Form
