**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

Provides Library services to students and staff by:

- Developing and conducting instructional classes for research skills and information literacy;
- Providing reference services for students and faculty as needed;
- Performs other duties as assigned

Maintains positive relationships with colleagues and other members of the College staff by:

- Developing positive relationships with College faculty, staff and other professionals;
- Being a positive and active participant in the Library’s responsibilities;
- Providing support and cooperative assistance to fellow professionals and College staff; and
- Acting with professionalism and integrity at all times.

**Skills, Knowledge and Abilities**
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Expertise with using major research databases
- Ability to effectively work with the various information technologies used in the Library
- Ability to work with and contribute to a team
- Excellent understanding of current trends in library and information science
- Strong services commitment

**Education and Experience**
- A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution
- Minimum 1-year experience working as a Librarian in an academic environment

**This is a short-term, full-time (100%) position commencing March 4, 2024, and ending June 30, 2024; or until the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of extension. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Selkirk College Faculty Association Collective Agreement. The salary range is $2,630.19 - $4,214.77 bi-weekly (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications and experience.
