The Data & AI team collaborates with a large pool of internal groups at AIMCo and is responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring and governing AIMCo’s Modern Data Platform (MDP). You would contribute to the development and deployment of modern Data engineering pipelines & Business Intelligence (BI) analytics for financial & investment data. You will work with several passionate and solution-oriented Data & DevOps Engineering professionals who are eager to support and mentor you. **Responsibilities**:

- Leverage cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, and support your team in building and managing advanced data platform infrastructures.
- Write Terraform, SQL and Python code to configure cloud infrastructure resources, CICD pipelines and data processing services.
- Participate in identifying emerging technologies and perform comparative analysis of competing tools/technologies. Provide recommendations, documentations, and share knowledge to your team.
- Participate in team problem-solving efforts in providing guidance and support to the Data Product team on technical issues and challenges.
- Support operational services for the development of data engineering pipelines including root-cause analysis, debugging, training, and documentation.
- Work with your team to collect information and understand processes. Support building a well-written production runbook and operations documentation.
- Consult with various data product development teams and gather requirements on performance optimization or scaling challenges.
- Work with Financial & Investment data to perform exploratory analysis, data processing and modeling to support Business Intelligence objectives. Use excellent communication and collaboration skills in navigating solutions and share findings with your team.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Returning to full time studies in Fall 2024 or finishing final work experience terms
- Demonstrated skill in the use of one or more tools or languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Java & JavaScript, C# etc.)
- Familiarity with CICD pipelines and Data Engineering pipelines is desired.
- Familiarity with any of the Streaming Technologies, Data Engineering, or Big Data Technologies is a plus (e.g. Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Snowflake, Databricks etc.)
- Exposure to Business Intelligence visualization software (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
- High attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to not just identify problems but provide solutions.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspiring the same in others
