**Your role**

The Standards & Approvals section of the Environmental Protection and Assessment Branch establishes environmental standards and implements policies and regulations to enhance environmental quality. The Environmental Protection Analyst contributes to these initiatives by analyzing, developing and implementing Environment Act regulations, policies and related programs.

**Essential Qualifications**

- Degree with a major in chemistry, hydrogeology, environmental or other related sciences, or engineering;
- Recent experience in conducting technical research and analysis and comparing to environmental standards and legislation; and
- Experience working collaboratively with government and industry stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

**Assets**
- Experience with Yukon’s environmental regulatory processes and relevant legislation;
- Experience using and maintaining equipment for monitoring the quality of water, air or soil;
- Experience in contaminated sites remediation and conducting work in accordance with the Yukon _Contaminated Sites Regulation _and its protocols.

**Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability**
- The ability to effectively manage time, priorities and a changing workload;
- Strong written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with others; and

**Additional Information**:
Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or equivalent)

**Job Requirements**:
Occasional travel within the Yukon to remote locations in a variety of weather and field conditions.
