**Wage**:$52,000/year pro rata

**Location**:Anywhere in Canada, with preference close to a major airport

**Job Summary**:Living Lakes Canada is seeking a Biomonitoring Technician
Lakes Canada team, the project team, and external partners on a regular basis.

The Biomonitoring technician will support the following programs:

- iTrackDNA
- CABIN
- STREAM
- Eastern Slopes Community-Based Aquatic Monitoring Collaborative

**Responsibilities**:Reporting to the Program Manager, the responsibilities will include:

- Training/monitoring: _
- Deliver extensive field work training that can require irregular/long hours, often in remote locations
- Travel nationally to training locations during the spring, summer, and fall months (March - October)
- Build and maintain positive and collegial relationships with multi-sector external partners
- Generate Memorandum of Understandings to support external partnerships
- Upload, transcribe, report, and analyze data
- Build and maintain appropriate Indigenous relationships
- Work with Applied Reconciliation for Indigenous pre-engagement, ethics, and protocol training
- Complete field work logistics planning including travel, accommodation, food arrangements
- Allocate, organize, and ship equipment
- Assist with training material development
- CABIN Train-the-Trainer_
- Assist with CABIN courses
- Assist with external partners with CABIN monitoring
- Co-Lead CABIN course
- Lead CABIN Audit course with ECCC
- Complete CABIN Train-the-Trainer program
- Lead STREAM/CABIN trainings at national level
- Fundraising_/Administration
- Contribute to fundraising database
- Complete funding reports
- Communications_
- Develop monthly blog/reflections for work completed to share with LLC network
- Develop social media content for multiple platforms - Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter
- Support development of training recap videos
- Update websites with training dates, locations, and details

**Core Competencies**:

- Field work experience
- Teaching experience
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
- Knowledge and experience working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, DocuSign preferred
- Typing skills
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Adaptable, capable of handling a large amount of information and data

**Qualifications**:

- Certified in the Canadian Aquatic Biomonitoring Network (CABIN) protocol
- Experience with field collection of environmental DNA
- An undergraduate or Master’s degree in a related field
- 1-2 years experience working in environmental monitoring and/or program delivery
- Reliable, self-motivated and independent with a demonstrated ability to collaborate well within a team
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and support others to do the same
- Understanding of NGO operations, including fundraising, finances, administration, human resources, strategic planning and team building
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Commitment to Living Lakes Canada’s mission
