**Position Overview**

Reporting to the IT Systems Administrator, the successful IT Technician will actin IT support issues such as installing and configuring of software and hardware, this also includes setting up new user accounts, work stations, troubleshooting issues and outages for new and existing employees

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software
- Set up user accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Maintain inventory of hardware in-house
- Shipping of hardware to customers/sites
- Communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced
- Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions
- Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties
- Manage all network hardware and equipment, including switches, firewall, VPN, and patch panels
- Health and Safety_
- Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar’s health and safety practices and procedures
- Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
- Understand safety policies and protocols
- Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

***Who we are looking for**:

- 1-2 years of experience working as Technical Support Specialist or equivalent experience/education
- Working knowledge of android phones and iphones
- Working experience with RingCentral is an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of working with Windows 10, 11
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to prioritize incidents and tasks
- Education and Experience_
- Technical diploma or university degree in the field of MIS. Relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of O365. Mobile device management and cloud infrastructure.
- Must be able to adapt to new technologies, situations, and expectations.
- Good technical knowledge and working experience in IT policies, standards, processes and procedures, Network architecture, and Identity and access management.
- Able to relate and guide users in regards to technology adapdation.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position reports out of Canstar’s head office
- Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
- This position does have a component of after hours on-call shifts on a rotation basis. Industry is 24/7 and some after hours work is expected.
