Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Fish Store Worker to join our team. This role seems tailor-made for those who truly love working with aquatic ecosystems.Maintaining a saltwater aquarium demands careful attention to cleanliness, temperature regulation, and adequate lighting. Consistency in maintaining stable salinity levels by replenishing evaporated water daily is essential. Regular feeding schedules are also necessary to ensure the well-being of fish and invertebrates.

**Duties**:

- Advise customers on the appropriate choice of stock and after-care for their existing aquarium.
- Advise all customers on the appropriate purchase of new mechanical or decorative items.
- Regular cleaning of tanks, including scrubbing algae, vacuuming substrate, and maintaining equipment such as filters and pumps to ensure optimal water quality.
- Assisting customers in selecting suitable aquariums, equipment, and livestock for their needs and helping to set up new tanks
- General care for all livestock whilst it awaits sale to customers.
- Be sympathetic to a customer’s requirements or complaints.
- In the case of a store manager, make decisions on stock levels and advertising and promotion.
- Store managers must also handle staff rotas and arrange for store accounts to be prepared each month.

**Experience**:

- Prior experience in Aquarium or fish store is must.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Aquarium handling and interpretation.
- Familiarity with POS systems for processing transactions.
- Strong cashiering skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to upsell and cross-sell products to customers.
- Basic math skills for calculating prices and discounts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
