**About The Role**
The debt collections agent is responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts and collecting outstanding debts from customers on behalf of our debt collections company. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential in negotiating payment arrangements, providing customer support, and maintaining a high level of professionalism while adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
**Responsibilities**
**Debt Collection**:
- Contact customers to negotiate payment plans and collect outstanding debts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, payment arrangements, and progress on debt collections.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and legal requirements to ensure compliance with debt collection regulations.
- Analyze and evaluate customer financial situations to determine the most suitable repayment options.
- Meet individual and team targets for debt recovery and productivity to contribute to the company's overall success.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal developments related to debt collection activities.
**Customer Service**:
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering appropriate solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex customer issues and provide feedback on process improvements.
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma required.
- Three years of relevant experiencein sales or debt collections is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
**Competencies**

As a credit advisor responsible for debt collection, the identified competencies - Interpersonal Effectiveness, Customer Focus, Planning and Organization, and Continuous Improvement, Quality, & Learning - are particularly critical for negotiating payment arrangements, providing effective customer service, and continuously improving debt collection techniques.
- **Interpersonal Effectiveness**:Establishing meaningful connections with customers through clear and empathetic communication, enabling successful negotiation and cooperation for debt resolution and credit advising.
- **Customer Focus**: Prioritizing the needs of clients and building strong relationships to deliver customer-focused solutions for successful debt recovery and credit management.
- **Planning and Organization**: Ensuring timely follow-ups and efficient handling of multiple accounts by approaching work with attention to detail and effective planning.
- **Continuous Improvement, Quality, & Learning**: By staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal developments, the credit advisor improves debt recovery strategies, evaluates customer financial situations, and identifies suitable repayment options, ensuring the delivery of high-quality debt collection services.

Pay: $48,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
