We offer a variety of recreational and fitness programs to promote well-being and a sense of connection among neighbors. Our Barre classes are a fun, effective way to stay fit, and we’re looking for an energetic and certified Barre Instructor to lead these classes for our residents
As a Barre Instructor with McKenzie Lake Residents Association, you will guide residents through energizing and engaging Barre workouts that combine elements of ballet, Pilates, and yoga. You will foster a welcoming environment for participants of all fitness levels and help them build strength, flexibility, and confidence in their bodies. Whether residents are beginners or experienced, your role is to inspire and ensure they get the most out of their fitness journey.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead Barre classes for community members, ensuring classes are engaging, safe, and effective
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages participation from individuals of all fitness levels
- Demonstrate and instruct movements clearly, providing modifications as needed for various fitness levels
- Foster strong relationships with residents, creating a sense of community and belonging
- Monitor class attendance, track progress, and provide individualized guidance when appropriate
- Set up and maintain all necessary equipment, such as mats, weights, and barre equipment
- Promote Barre classes to residents through newsletters, social media, and other community channels
- Ensure safety by providing proper instructions and guidance during exercises
- Collaborate with the Community Recreation Coordinator to plan special events or fitness initiatives
**Qualifications**:
- Certification in Barre (e.g., Barre Above, Bootybarre, or other accredited programs)
- Experience teaching Barre or other group fitness classes
- Passion for fitness, community building, and promoting health and wellness
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with residents
- Professionalism and a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment for all participants
- First Aid/CPR certified (preferred but not required)
