**Finance Manager, Tax**

Due to continued growth, its already international presence, and complex organization structure, the Company is looking to hire a self-motivated Tax Manager with strong initiative and motivation to develop in all aspects of taxation. Reporting to the Controller, the tax analyst will be responsible for supporting teams and business units across a variety of tax jurisdictions (primarily in Canada, US, and UK), including compliance and advisory.

The Tax Manager will work closely with the VP of Finance on a variety of initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, and long-term tax planning across a wider array of tax jurisdictions.

**What You’ll Be Doing
**_Corporate Tax Compliance _**
- Prepare reports, reconciliations, and analysis to assist the Company’s third party tax advisors with the preparation and finalization of annual corporate tax returns.
- Track and initiate any tax installments or payables. In addition, following up with any receivables.
- Assist with the tracking of tax requirements and establishing new legal entities, including year-end, tax numbers.

**_International Transfer Pricing _**
- Coordinate with business units to ensure all internal transactions, across international jurisdictions and Group companies are in accordance with all tax requirements.
- As part of the quarterly reporting, complete recurring transfer pricing entries, including royalties, service agreements, and corporate charges.
- Maintain contracts and listings of all transfer pricing.

**_Tax Accounting _**
- Assist with the quarter-end close process, including preparing a high-level corporate tax provision.
- As part of the annual audit, provide working papers to external tax advisors to assist with the preparation of the detailed corporate tax provision.
- Prepare any cash tax entries, including corporate payments.
- Assist the VP of Finance with the preparation of IFRS tax disclosure in the annual financing statements.

**_Tax Consulting _**
- Assist business units with tax inquiries, including treatment of indirect taxes (HST or VAT), withholding tax, or corporate tax.
- Assist the VP of Finance in identifying tax implications and provide recommendations on structuring any contracts, including legal entities, jurisdiction, payment terms, or other.
- Research tax requirements for unique transactions, and provide summaries to the VP of Finance.

**_Ad Hoc _**
- In addition to tax responsibilities, the individual will be responsible for certain general accounting duties as part of the month-end close.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Obtained a CPA or working towards a CPA
- Experience in preparing Canadian corporate tax returns. International tax experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in tax for a public accounting firm or the tax department of corporation.
- Willingness to work effectively both independently and on a team - you’ll be working closely with the corporate accounting teams in Toronto and abroad, as well as various business operators, including both finance and non-finance backgrounds.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written - communicating effectively with teams from different countries and professional backgrounds will be critical to success in this role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy - the results of your work will support compliance with tax requirements.
