**The Role**

The Forklift Mechanic role will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary machinery, mechanical equipment and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications.

**Your Impact**
- Installs, aligns, dismantles, and moves stationary industrial machinery, mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, roasters and compressors and forklifts according to plans using hand and power tools.
- Operates hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and power trucks to position machinery and parts during the installations, set-up, and repair of machinery.
- Inspects and examines machinery, equipment, and forklifts to detect and investigate irregular and malfunctions.
- Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electric motors, and nitrogen systems.
- Adjusts machinery and forklifts and repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Operates machine tools such as grinders, mill machine and band saw to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on machinery and forklifts.
- Assembles machinery, equipment and forklifts prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Maintains work area clean, organized, and safe, reports potential hazards to supervisor.
- Responsible for Lockout procedures.
- Works safely and follows legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
- Any additional duties as required in adherence to the JVF GMP policies.

**About You**
- At least 2 years of post-secondary education or equivalent (College diploma, some college and/or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, millwright trades).
- 3+ years of experience in similar positions, in an industrial or manufacturing environment (preferred building maintenance, maintenance mechanic, maintenance millwright, maintenance electrician).
- Basic computing skills: Outlook, MS Office, and ability to learn our Cloud based CCMS.
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Good follow up abilities.
- Problem solving and organizational skills.
- Results oriented with focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
