Horticulturalist

About the Role:
**Responsibilities**:

- Maintaining lawns of 8-acre site
- Mowing
- Weed Control & Maintenance
- Maintaining the minirail track
- Maintaining flower beds
- Planting and maintaining vegetable gardens
- Pruning and maintenance of fruit trees/shrubs
- Harvesting and preparing produce for use or preserving
- Recording duties in log book
- Work with Programming Manager to develop a garden tour
- Assist with minirail operations when needed
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Able to work full contract term
- Interest in local history/nature-based tourisM/Forestry
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work outside in all conditions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher)
- Ability to pass a background check (background check cost covered by museum)
- Ability to lift, move and carry 40 kg.
- Ability to function effectively in ever-changing environment and deal with frequent interruptions
- Capable of managing oneself independently
- Interest in highly physical daily routine
